Rock and Swiss Roll

Just got back from a weekend in possibly the most affluent city I've ever been to, Geneva... virtually no crime...! A lot of fur and badly dressed middle aged women abound.

Spent the weekend visiting folks we know in Switzerland and drank enough to never need to pour alcohol down my gullet ever again... Very strange city, Geneva... very affluent and quite dull - except for the binge drinking...! There's practically no crime there and whilst it's a beautiful place to visit, unless you have thousands to spend on shit that you don't need it can be quite a boring experience... saved only by my British penchant for quoffing alcohol by the gallon... to fill the time during the day I found myself visiting the Museum of Time - which essentially consists of a Swatch showroom displaying every watch they've made for the last twenty years... five minutes into this swiss wristwatch extravaganza makes you realise that these tricky timepiece manufacturers have made a fortune from what is, to all intents and purposes, the same watch... save for a kaleidoscope of garish designs, it's the same watch... checked out the gallery of contemporary art, too with an exhibition from one of Switzerlands greatest living modern artist... and (as with most modrn art) he manages to get away with sticking tables to walls, painting pieces of wood one colour and putting chairs he's bought into a room full of sand... is that art...? Discuss... as a friend of mine once said, 'many are prepeared to die for their art... but not many are prepared to learn how to draw...'

Until next time Natwatchers...
