Smile Again

I've said too many words

And lived through many days

Nearly thirty years until I saw your face

Now all around me fades

Into a photograph (in shades of grey)

In the centre of my gaze your eyes sparkle as you laugh

If you smile again I might fall

If you smile again I might fall

My walls have all crumbled

I've got no defence here at all

So if you smile again I might fall

I had too many dreams

And I told to many lies to myself

At least that's the way it seemed

Until I saw your eyes

Now all around me falls

Down to background noise (and whispered words)

In the centre of it all I can hear your voice

If you smile again I might fall

If you smile again I might fall

My walls have all crumbled

I've got no defence here at all

So if you smile again I...

But I'm left here hanging on the wire

Just waiting for the call

The call that means that I get to see your smile

I think I'm ready now to fall

So come on, smile again so I can fall

Smile again so I can fall

My walls have all crumbled

I've got no defence here at all

Smile again so I can fall

I want to fall

I want to fall

This time I want to fall

Oh, happy days are here again... spring has sprung (and not just the one in the middle of my bed)... I'm loving the pleasant weather that can be seen outside my window... some of the sunshine is even managing to pervade my dingy basement....
